On Fridays at my other site, plainolebob2, on blogspot, we hand out the "Hot Dawg" blogger award.
You may have noticed that this award is dedicated to Miss Rae.
I felt like this would be as good a time as any to tell you why.
I only know Miss Rae, through blogging on blogger.
She is the reason that I even blog, I almost quit before I got started.
I started blogging because a friend suggested that I should.
I was having terrible nightmares due to an accident that killed the fellow standing next to me. For years I have had nightmares about this accident, and blogging may be the release that I needed, as it turned out, it was.
When I first started, I was reluctant to write about it, I goofed around in the coffee shop at the google help forum.
I started following a blogger, Bruce Coltin at http://www.brucecoltin.blogspot.com/ if you have ever read anything at his site you will undestand why.
Bruce Coltin started this thread, Do you just follow blogs, or do you also read them?
On this thread he made mention of Miss Raes' site," if you would like to read more on the subject of just following blogs vs. reading blogs, please go to www.myweathervane.blogspot.
This really piqued my interest, so, I went and checked her out.
I was truly thinking at this time, that blogging was not for me.
It was the inspiration that I needed at the time, to write about the accident, and my feelings.
So, THANK-YOU, Miss Rae, it is because of you that I am still blogging to this day. that I have met so many of your beautiful and glorious bloggers. It is because of you that there is a "Hot Dawg" blogger award, and if it is from the inspiration of that post, that I wrote about my accident and was freed from my nightmares.
I will always be grateful to you, and I reall want every one that visits my site to know why I hold you in such high esteem.
Your biggest blogging fan,
Bob Byford
Plainolebob
Please read the thread listed at the bottom of Miss Raes' post
http://myweathervane.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-blogging-opinion.html
and her post that kept me writing.
You just may gain a new perspective of the blogging family.

Normally, I would say here great post and tell you how great you are (because you are) but this time I'm gonna leave a note saying Thank You Miss Rae because obviously we in bloggerland would have missed some GREAT stories posted by you mr. bob if it weren't for her. So, Thank You Miss Rae
hi Bess :)
Mike, please visit her and let her know, she is so wonderful
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This means the world to me. I have wondered about the dedication for a long time, but knew you would post it when the time was right. If I have inspired you in anyway I am pleased and feel humbled. I am glad that blogging has become an outlet for you to help put the past in perspective and allow you to move forward. You are a remarkable person!!! You have made my day and renewed my lagging blogging spirit. You deserve a great deal of credit for brightening the day of so many of us fellow bloggers. It is truly an honor to know you.
Miss Rae,I have admired your spirit and tenacity, you never complain but just write the best damn blogs out there on a constant basis. My hat will always be tipped to you.

I am very grateful to Mrs.Rae for inspiring you to stay on and blog. Your writings are one of the most funniest I have ever read... and they pick me up on bad days. I need to visit Miss Rae because I know for sure now that she is one inspirational person.
Thank you Bob for staying. I love your blogs.
Very well said, Bob. I will certainly go and take a look right now! There are times when I have felt like just giving up, but something just makes me carry on, even though it took me some tie to actually write anything! But I look at it as my therapy too.
Thank you!
Another gr8 post! It's amazing how many different sides you've allowed us to see of you.
You're truly an inspiration.
There's always a could've been isn't there? Glad she inspired you to continue. Have a great week!
What can I say but "DITTO." :-)
I agree! Rae should have a newspaper column of her own. I tell her all the time. I share your position of being her biggest fan. She makes me laugh, and sometimes cry, but always is there with kind and generous words.
I'm glad she inspired you to keep blogging or I wouldn't have discovered you!
Nearly forgot to come back and comment - just spent a good 20 minutes over on Miss Rae's blog following your link. Very well deserved dedication - she had me genuinly laughing aloud at her Spanx post and then choking up on her Snoopy post almost straight away.
A beautiful post from you today Bob and a special thanks to Miss Rae for inspiring you. I believe I commented on that debate you mentioned though I suspect mine wasn't a well thought out constructive comment... doesn't sound like me ;) Probably a waffle that I would be lucky if I stayed on subject. I do remember the follow me and I'll follow you debate which still annoys me now. How pointless is that?... anyway... wandering again.
Thank you Bob, loved this post.
Well Bob...first of all I understood ALL YOUR WORDS this time! Second I think you are a gentleman!
I am committed to reading the blogs I am following, I think it is so important to give each time and comments! I am going to visit her blog also because one of my best friend's surname is Rae!
Hugs
thank you all for visiting Miss Rae, and all of your kind words
Bob, You had better be reading this because I have something for you over at my site!
Big Hugs!
I love Rae too!! I don't even remember how we found each other, but she is always a positive, uplifting and consistent commenter on my blogs. I have to say, her blog started out good and has just gotten better and better! I'm glad she was a support for you, too.
